Minnesota authors at Farmington Library Sept. 28
Minnesota authors Sue Flanders and Janine Kosel will discuss their book, Norwegian Handknits, on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 6:30 p.m. at the Dakota County Farmington Library. Sue Flanders has been designing knitwear for more than 20 years. Janine Kosel is an accomplished knitter who teaches knitting and tatting workshops in the Twin Cities. The book includes 30 patterns inspired by the authors' research of Norwegian knits housed at the Vesterheim Museum in Decorah, Iowa. The museum artifacts were either brought from Norway during immigration or were made by Norwegian settlers once they arrived in their "western home." Vintage photographs, Norwegian folklore, and recipes are woven throughout the book. Bring along your own knitting project!
This presentation is part of Dakota County Library's annual Minnesota Mosaic(r) cultural arts series, which is sponsored by The Dakota County Library Foundation. This project was also funded with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
All Minnesota Mosaic(r) events are free and open to all ages.
