Dakota County seeks feedback on draft Vermillion River Corridor Plan
Share ideas about the draft Vermillion River Corridor Plan on Sept. 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Dakota County Extension and Conservation Center at 4100 220th St., Farmington.
The open house will focus on concepts like water quality, habitat, recreation, and possible improvements within the Vermillion River Corridor. The event is informal and anyone can attend any time during the open house. No formal presentation is planned. County staff will be available to answer questions.
The purpose of the Vermillion River Corridor Plan is to promote management techniques and projects that provide multiple benefits: improve water qualityinterconnect habitat, provide compatible recreation, and create a framework to help guide future growth and development.
To review the draft plan, visit the Vermillion River Watershed website, www.vermillionriverwatershed.org and search corridor plan. A review copy of the draft Vermillion River Corridor Plan is also available at the Galaxie Library in Apple Valley, the Pleasant Hill Library in Hastings and at the Farmington Library.
