On Wednesday Oct 6, from 3 to 4:30, Frank Beddor will be talking about his books, The Looking Glass Wars, a popular young adult series that was on the NY Times best sellers list. Mr. Beddor is a Minnesota native, he grew up in Excelsior. He has had an interesting life as a competitive skier, a film producer for There's Something About Mary and even a Hollywood stuntman. On Saturday Oct 9th we will have another author from 2 to 4 pm, Paul Maccabee. Prior to writing his book, John Dillinger Slept Here, Maccabee wrote investigative feature articles for the Twin Cities Reader, for which he was awarded a Page One Award from the MN Society of Professional Journalists. His presentation will be a lively storytelling of some the best known gangsters that spent time in Minnesota in the 1930's. You'll learn a little history and be very entertained. Peeps aren't just for Easter anymore! On Thursday the 21st, during MEA, from 2 to 3, we will be providing all the materials for teens to make a peep diorama for a county wide contest.
