Applebee's is saying thank you to the nation's veterans and active duty military by inviting them for a free entree on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov.11


November 11 is Veterans Day, the national holiday dedicated to honoring all who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Veterans Day became an official observance in 1954. The holiday replaced Armistice Day, which commemorated the temporary end of hostilities during World War I. There are many Veterans Day freebies available to vets and active US Military on November 11. Applebee's is once again honoring the U.S. Military by offering veterans and active duty free entree on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2010. With proper identification, veterans and active military personnel will enjoy a free signature entree at any Applebee's on Wednesday November 11th in recognition for their honorable service. Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it is usually observed on November 11.

In recognition of their service to our country, the nation's military is invited to mark their day of honor with fellow veterans, service men and women, friends and family at any of the nearly 1,900 Applebee's restaurants nationwide. Military personnel will be able to choose an entrée from six menu favorites including Three Cheese Chicken Penne, a 7 oz Sirloin and a bacon cheeseburger. Proof of military service is required to obtain the free entree. Acceptable identification includes: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform. Spread the word so that all military personnel can enjoy a free meal at Applebee's on Veteran's Day 2010.
