Always greener: Dakota County holds open houses on greenway plans

They connect parks, rivers and wetlands; provide opportunities for recreation and transportation; and preserve water quality and natural habitat—they're called greenways. Dakota County's long-term vision is to create more than 200 miles of greenways by collaborating with counties, cities and school districts. Residents are invited to learn more about greenways and share their ideas during an open house on Thursday, Dec. 16 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Western Service Center in Apple Valley in room L139. Staff will talk with residents about the North Creek Greenway, which will connect the Lebanon Hills Regional Park to the Vermillion River, and the Minnesota River Greenway, which will connect Lilydale Regional Park to Scott County.
