Pleasant Hill Library Events

Free Adult Computer Classes at the Library. The Pleasant Hill Library will offer a series of computer classes in January. Classes include the following:

Internet Basics Class,   Thursday,  Jan 6, 2011  2-4 p.m.

Pleasant Hill Library will be offering a free class on Thursday, January 6 from 2-4 p.m. on the basics of using the Internet.  Students will gain a basic understanding of the Internet, learn about web browsers and how to navigate one.  You'll locate things on the internet using a search engine, a website, a URL address and the toolbar.  Class is limited to 10 people and registration is required.  You can register by calling the library at 438-0200 or register online at www.dakotacounty.us/library.  Registration begins on  December 24.

MS Word Class  -  Thursday, Jan 20, 2011 2-4 p.m.

Pleasant Hill Library will be offering a free computer class on learning the word processing program, Microsoft Word on Thursday, Jan 20, from 2-4 pm.  Learn the basic features of MS Word and create a document using many of the software features.  Learn to format, set margins and save your document.  Class is limited to 10 people and registration is required.  You can register by calling the library at 438-0200 or register online at www.dakotacounty.us/library.  Registration begins on  Thursday, Jan 6.

Holiday Fun with ECFE at the Library - Children age 3 to 5 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Friday, December 17 for a morning filled with holiday related activities, stories, games and crafts.  This event is co-sponsored by the Hastings Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) and the Pleasant Hill Library.  The theme for this program is "Gingerbread Boy".  There is no charge for the event, but registration is required.  To register, visit the library website at www.co.dakota.mn.us.  People interested in attending this event may also call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the front desk of the library to register.

Teddy Bears and Toys at Baby Story Time

     Babies and their caregivers are invited to a special story time on Monday, December 20 at 10:15 a.m. in the Pleasant Hill Library meeting room.  Babies age newborn to 24 months will enjoy a morning filled with stories, songs, bounces and playtime geared to entertain and educate babies.  The theme of Baby Story time is Teddies and Toys.

Toddlers Celebrate the Holidays with Story Time at the Library  

     Toddlers age 2 to 3 years old are invited to a special holiday themed story time at the Pleasant Hill Library this week.

     Toddler story time is scheduled for Tuesday, December 21 at 10:30 a.m.  Children will enjoy a morning of holiday stories, rhymes, songs and activities selected to entertain as well as develop early literacy skills. There is no charge for story time, and no registration is required.  For more information, call the library at 651-438-0200.

                                          

Story Time Before Snooze Time-Join Your Friends and Family for Bedtime Story Time at the Library

     Children of all ages and their families are invited to a special evening family bedtime story time on Thursday, December 16 at 6:30 p.m.  The evening will be filled with stories, crafts, and special activities all centered around trains.  There is no charge for story time, and no registration is required.  For more information, call the library at 651-438-0200.
