Dakota County to hold CPR training sessions

Get hands on training that could save a life. Take Heart Minnesota partners with Dakota County Library to present Dakota County Heart Restart workshops that will provide three CPR sessions in early February. Two training sessions will be held Saturday, Feb. 5 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Farmington Library, and from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Galaxie Library. There will be a third session Sunday, Feb. 6 from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Heritage Library.

First responders and survivors of sudden cardiac arrest will provide free training in this hands only method of CPR. The training familiarizes people with basic CPR skills that may help them revive a person who experiences sudden cardiac arrest. The course does not offer certificates or course-completion cards.

With a goal of teaching CPR to ten percent of residents by 2012, Take Heart Minnesota is increasing community awareness and increasing the chances of survival for victims of sudden cardiac arrest in Dakota County.
