Five well-known local children’s authors will be visiting Dakota County libraries to celebrate I Love to Read Month in February.
The visiting authors are Susan Runholt, Joseph Helgerson, Jacqueline West, William Durbin, and Marion Dane Bauer. Many of the programs are during the day, so homeschooling parents and teachers are encouraged to bring their classes. Space is limited. Free tickets are required and available at the library hosting the program two week before the event.
Susan Runholt
Author of the Kari and Lucas mystery series. Runholt lives in St. Paul and shares her teenage heroine’s love of art and travel. Ages: 10 and older.

Joseph Helgerson

Jacqueline West
Author of the first title in The Books of Elsewhere series. The Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books called it a “delightful concoction of quirky humor blended with rumbling ominous undertones.” Ages: 8 and older.

William Durbin
Author of a number of historical fiction chapter books for an upper elementary and teen audience, as well as three titles in the popular Dear America series. Durbin is an author and teacher and lives at the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Areas Wilderness in northeastern Minnesota. All ages.
