Sheets appointed to Workforce Development Board

The Dakota County Board of Commissioners has appointed a new member to the Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board (WDB). Chad Sheets will represent the public education sector following his March 27 appointment.
 
Sheets, dean of Customized Training and Continuing Education for Dakota County Technical College (DCTC), leads a team of sales representatives, administrative support specialists, curriculum developers and adjunct instructors in analyzing area training needs, program and curricula development, and delivering training to businesses and industries in Dakota and Scott counties.
 
Sheets directs the strategic vision for the Customized Training and Continuing Education department, and he works with the business community to help develop workforce alignment solutions across industry sectors. As previous dean of the Transportation and Industry Division at DCTC, Sheets created the maintenance and light repair program and expanded the electrical lineworker and welding programs. He recently served on the SkillsUSA Minnesota Board of Directors, and he has been a subject matter expert for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.
 
The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board oversees employment and training programs in Dakota and Scott counties. It is a state leader in developing innovative programs administered through WorkForce Centers in Burnsville, Shakopee and West St. Paul.
