Warm up this winter with a good book: Dakota County Library's tenth annual adult reading program begins Jan. 10

Winter is a great time to warm up with a good book—and that's what the Winter Jackets program is all about. The tenth annual reading program for adults is from Jan. 10 to Feb. 28 at all Dakota County libraries. The program encourages adults to take time to enjoy the simple pleasure of wintertime reading, write reviews and attend author programs. In addition, for every book read and reviewed, participants are entered into a weekly prize drawing.
Author programs include Answering 911 with Caroline Burau on Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 7–8 p.m. at the Wentworth Library in West St. Paul and Chris Farrell, Minnesota Public Radio's financial guru, on Thursday, Jan. 27, from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Wescott Library in Eagan.
Burau, author of Answering 911: Life in the Hot Seat, will answer questions and talk about job, health and safety issues.
Farrell is the author of The New Frugality: How to Consume Less, Save More, and Live Better. He will discuss a wide range of financial health topics and answer questions from the audience.
Winter Jackets is presented in partnership with the Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA). There is no cost to participate or attend programs.
