U of M Extension announces 2011 woodland webinar series
Building on the success of last year's first woodland webinar series, the University of Minnesota Extension will offer a series of web-based seminars, or "webinars," on topics of interest to Minnesota woodland owners. While internet access is required, webinars offer the convenience of learning at your home or office, avoiding the time and expense of traveling to a workshop. This year's topics include:· Recreational Trail Design (Jan. 21 & 28, noon to 1 p.m.)
· Forest Health: Insects and Diseases in Minnesota (Feb. 17, noon to 1 p.m.)
· Accessing Air Photos And Custom Maps Online (March 11, noon to 1 p.m.)
· Managing Woodland Ash in the Emerald Ash Borer Era (May 13, noon to 1 p.m.)
· Nontimber Forest Products (June date to be determined)
Everybody is welcome, but the webinars are designed for family woodland owners. One continuing education credit hour per webinar is available for interested professionals.
All seven webinars will be recorded and made available online for later viewing. There is no charge to attend, but pre-registration is required in order to obtain webinar connection instructions.
Schedules, registration information, and other details are at http://z.umn.edu/woodweb.
